Introducing Facebook’s Call-to-Action Button

Rejoice while you can, Facebook business page admins. Facebook has added an enhanced feature to your page. Yes, it’s a drop in the bucket in comparison with all the ways they’ve limited your page’s exposure, but it’s something.

As of December 2014, business pages can now add a Call-to-Action button to their page, touted by Facebook thusly:

Designed to bring a business’s most important objective to the forefront of its Facebook presence, call-to-action buttons link to any destination on or off Facebook that aligns with a business’s goals.

You can add just one button to your page, and it will appear alongside the buttons that overlay business page cover photos. You have seven calls to action available, and can use any URL:

  • Book Now
  • Contact Us
  • Use App
  • Play Game
  • Shop Now
  • Watch Video

Once you see a little flag appear over your cover photo on your page, you’re ready to get started. Click through on “Create Call-to-Action,” and a dialogue box will walk you through how to add the new feature to your page.

The new feature is meant to roll out across the U.S. throughout 2015, so watch your Facebook business page for the callout.
